There is no low end here for forty three seconds. A bandpassed chord loop parks around 400Hz, spread wide, no kick under it and not one hi hat on top. Forty three seconds of a two and a half minute song with the bottom deliberately missing.
Then the 808 arrives and the mix turns over. It sits on F sharp down around 46Hz, low enough that most laptop speakers will simply refuse it, and everything that carried the intro drops something like thirty decibels beneath it. I checked the meters because I did not trust my ears. The sub is the loudest thing in the track by a mile, mono’d tight while the hats stay wide around it.
COSMIC, FOOLY and OHTEE are running about 141 with a halftime feel, and the second drop earns the trip with noticeably more hat rolls over the same immovable bottom. The master is pinned flat against the ceiling, peaks at full scale, which is the choice you make when you know it is getting played in a car.
That long dry intro is the smart part. Most trap this heavy gives you eight bars of tension and calls it a build. Holding out for forty three seconds is a gamble, and it pays because you feel the drop in your chest instead of just hearing it. One idea, held way past comfortable, gone in 2:34.
