Craig Connelly – Lamaya

Craig Connelly - Lamaya

Most peak-time trance trades melody for force and hopes you do not notice. Lamaya does the opposite, and that is the whole reason it stuck with me. Craig Connelly and Sam Laxton built it at 140 BPM, fast enough to hit a room hard, and then refused to let the melody get buried under the speed. The first time the breakdown opened up I stopped what I was doing.

Connelly called it classic, blissful, uplifting trance, and the track backs the description without overselling it. Laxton’s tech-trance edge keeps the low end driving and clubby, but it is Connelly’s lead line that carries the emotion, the kind of melody that aches a little even while your feet are moving. The tension between the two, club muscle underneath and real feeling on top, is what makes the drop pay off instead of just arriving.

It landed May 22, 2026 on Future Sound of Egypt, catalog FSOE1004, and TranceAttack handed it a 9 out of 10. This is the first time either name shows up in our pages, so keep an eye on the Craig Connelly hub and Sam Laxton’s hub going forward. Play it loud at 1am when the room is finally ready for something that means it. Out now on Future Sound of Egypt, stream it.

About Jeremy Dentelstein

Jeremy writes the longer pieces: melodic techno and house, the deep and the emotional, plus interviews and the occasional deep dive. He listens for the build before the drop and the feeling after it, and would rather sit with a track for a week than rush a verdict.
