IKU had this one sitting in the ID pile for over a year, teasing clips on socials with the same question attached every time: drop 1 or drop 2. Trap Nation has OBS3SS3D W U up on the channel now. Poll closed.
I am a drop two guy and it is not close. The reason that question worked at all is that IKU did not just run the same drop twice with a longer fill in front of the second one, which is the standard move when a trap record promises you two. These are two different arguments about the same song.
The tags IKU hangs on it are trap, bass, rave, and hyperpop, all from the artist’s own posts. That last word is the useful one. It says the top end is carrying as much weight here as the 808s underneath, and that is how a track gets two drops pointing in different directions without coming apart in the middle. Everything IKU we have starts with this one, and 90 NUMBERS w/ 24hrs sits on the same channel.
Building two drops that people will genuinely fight about is harder than building one enormous one. That question was real, and IKU had to make a track worth asking it about.
