There is a room this track builds before it builds a beat, windowless and low, concrete underfoot, one red bulb doing all the work. Mafia B keeps you there a while, letting the dark settle onto your skin. Then the groove arrives, and Transmutation starts to move.
The pull is patience. It is a driving, four-on-the-floor techno cut that withholds as much as it gives, a low end that keeps its head down while hats and metallic hits circle until you lose track of time. I kept waiting for it to overplay its hand and it never does. The build tightens instead of breaking, and that restraint is the whole hook.
