Pull up the YouTube link for Timeblind at the wrong time of day and you will wonder why it hit so hard. I caught it late on a weeknight, the kind of hour when the apartment goes quiet and you have nothing left to do but sit with something good, and by the time the breakdown opened up I had already replayed it twice. This is the emotive edge of progressive house done with real patience.
Timeblind runs on a breakbeat foundation that never rushes. Sanger lets the groove do the heavy lifting through the first half, building pressure with each synth layer stacking quietly underneath, until the melody finally surfaces and it just aches. The companion cut 1016 Miles pulls in the same direction, a little deeper, a little more introspective, and together the two tracks feel like a late-night drive where the destination does not matter as much as what you are thinking about along the way.
Sanger is a Miami-based veteran who launched Dissident Music in 2007 and has been releasing on the label ever since. Timeblind / 1016 Miles is out now on Dissident Music via Essential Media Group, and if this two-track lands anywhere near a sunrise set this summer, the room is going to feel it.
