QUIX – FEAR

QUIX - FEAR

QUIX naming a trap track FEAR is not subtle, and I do not think he wanted it to be. He has spent his whole run at the dark, heavy end of trap, so here he grabs the bluntest word for it and builds around that. It is out on Monstercat Uncaged, the label’s heavier room, right where a QUIX cut like this belongs.

You know the QUIX toolkit: detuned bass that scowls at you, halftime weight, 808s that sit low in the chest, sound design built to clear the front row instead of charm the radio. A title like FEAR is a promise to lean into all of that, and he has never been shy about the low end. Sternum music, not radio.

QUIX is not new around here. We have run his solo cuts like The Cut and collabs like Jam Dizzle with Hydraulix, so FEAR is one more heavy entry in a long catalog. The full QUIX archive is worth a scroll if this one grabs you.

Play it where it belongs: the rail, the pit, the walk to the front when the bass is already rattling the barricade. FEAR is out now on Monstercat, and what I keep landing on is how little QUIX has softened. Years in, still aiming straight at your chest.

About Jackson Settles

Jackson lives in the low end: trap, dubstep, drum and bass, riddim, anything that hits in the chest. He covers the drops other writers are scared of, and he means it when he says a track goes hard. Loud is a compliment.
