The tell on Arizona is in the low end. Robin Schulz built his name on melodic house polished for daytime radio, so the first thing I listened for on his first studio team-up with Marten Horger was whether Horger’s bass would get sanded down to fit the format. It does not.
Horger’s signature is that rubbery, distorted bass-house growl, and here it drives a relentless four-on-the-floor with no interest in politeness. Schulz’s fingerprints keep it out of pure-beating territory: a clean vocal hook and enough melodic lift to give the drop somewhere to land. It is built for the Pacha main room at 1am and does not pretend otherwise.
The pairing did not come from nowhere. Marten Horger remixed Schulz and CYRIL’s World Gone Wild in 2024, and Arizona reads as the studio sequel to that first handshake. It also arrives as Schulz reopens his Pacha Ibiza residency for 2026, which explains the main-room math. For a producer whose catalog usually leans polished and melodic, this is the harder, bassier lane, and he sounds comfortable in it.
Out now on Warner. The question it leaves is whether Schulz keeps chasing this heavier sound or files Arizona under one-off, and, granted, the bass says he had a good time making it.
