The Second Voice – LET ME BE (Hypaton Remix)

The Second Voice - LET ME BE (Hypaton Remix)

The bounce here sits low, in the knees rather than the shoulders. Hypaton keeps the kick square and unfussy and lets the bass do all the swinging, and two bars in you are moving whether you planned to or not.

The bass is the tweaky metallic kind future house was built on, but it stays under the vocal instead of chewing through it, which is the right call. I keep placing this in the early-evening slot, sun still on the crowd, nobody tired yet, the stretch of the night that needs lift without any ceremony around it.

If you caught DON’T LEAVE, you already know The Second Voice can carry a track on the vocal alone. Hypaton just gave it something solid underneath.

Spinnin’ Records put the remix out on August 7 and it runs two minutes thirty-eight, shorter than most producers would dare cut a house record. I have looped it four times writing this and it has not started to drag. Nothing in it waits around, and a house record that knows when it is finished is rarer than it should be.
