Viot named a two track single after a gym split, and I love that the titles are basically the instructions. Flex is the swagger. Cardio is the sweat. The Brazilian producer built both as tech house cuts, and the names do most of the talking about how to use them.
Neither track breaks three and a half minutes and both sit at 128, which tells you exactly what they are for. Not headphone records. Tools. Stripped, percussive tech house that lives on the groove, with the titles filling in the rest, Flex for the strut and Cardio for the stretch of a set that is supposed to make you sweat. I want to hear a DJ reach for each one.
The pedigree backs the confidence. Flex/Cardio lands on Nu Moda, the imprint Max Styler runs. Viot, the Minas Gerais producer, already has support from Michael Bibi and The Martinez Brothers, with a US and European run booked through 2026.
It is the first Viot record in here, and on this evidence it will not be the last. Flex/Cardio is out now on Nu Moda, two tracks, barely seven minutes end to end, and not one second of it is a cooldown.
