Emo bass is a real lane in 2026, the corner of dubstep that wants you crying and headbanging in the same bar, and CRASH OUT is the pitch in its purest form. YDG, ARMNHMR and sad alex on one Monstercat single, with the label stamping Dubstep in the video title itself.
The billing does a lot of work. ARMNHMR have long been the feelings department of the heavy end, the duo behind Anywhere with Adventure Club and HALIENE, and YDG is who you call when the low end needs teeth. Then there is sad alex, a songwriter whose artist name is the job description. Putting her on a track called CRASH OUT is the most on-the-nose casting of the summer and I respect it.
A crash out is not a quiet event, and I am not expecting a quiet record. Monstercat ran it through Uncaged, where their heaviest stuff lives, and gave it a full lyric video, so the words are half the point. This is one for the night you rage-clean the apartment at 1am, volume way past reasonable, yelling lyrics you learned twenty minutes ago.
CRASH OUT is out now, July 29 on Monstercat, a lean 2:55 wherever you stream. Run the lyric video below, then run it again louder. See you in the pit.
