Normally, I hate Kickstarter. I get drunk and purchase stupid products. I am still waiting for certain products after three years. I am not about Kickstarter, but when I saw this, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Gabriel & Dresden are making an album; their first album in 10 years. This is what we’ve all been asking for. Unlike the traditional way of making an album, they’re not using a record company. This is where Kickstarter comes in! They going to involve all the backers in the process of making the album using live video streams, music demos, sound clips and video snippets.
In addition to the documentation, they’re creating an Advisory Board. This will be a private Soundcloud group where they will post songs in progress for you to give them direct feedback and vote on your favorites. For a limited number of people, they are opening up our doors so you can join them in the studio and get a first hand look at the music making process. You have a chance to be involved with the next chapter of this legendary duo’s album. The neatest thing is if you donate $10,000 to their page, you can get Dave Dresden’s CD Collection or co-write a track with them. Pretty neat.
At the time of writing this, they’ve raised $25,518 of their $30,000 goal. Check out their video below and donate to their page here.
