There are always some songs that just make you think. Like, when they play, you sit back and your mind floods with stupid ideas and random memories. Well, We’re All We Need by Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston just puts me in that mood; the mood to think. I wouldn’t even contribute it to the lyrics. I would contribute it to how Above & Beyond compose the instrumentals for the track. The melody and rhythm can trigger so many different emotions and thoughts that there is no chance that something in your past doesn’t come to memory, making you think and reminisce.
For this challenge day, Theo and I happened to choose the same track and for many of the same reasons. It makes you thoughtful and it instills this desire to step back and take a look at things with a new perspective; it’s empowering. As Theo said, the instrumentals contribute a great deal to the feeling, though I would say the lyrics add that last little bit. Check it out below!
