This was one of the hardest challenges to do, not because there isn’t anyone I want to forget about, but more because I had to choose one song that solely reminded me of them. Thus, I have chosen Above & Beyond’s track “Little Something”.
I cannot remember the precise moment this song became attached to someone in particular, but I recall more than a few conversations about it and why it was important to them, and by default, me. It’s not a song I listen to frequently anymore, and it’s not even one of my favorites from A&B, but the mention of the song itself or the first few bars is enough to trigger this person’s name and memories of them that I prefer to forget. At the end of the day, I don’t despise the song or the person for whom it reminds me of, but I will say that I tend to skip the track more often than not whenever it comes up on shuffle. I think that explains it well enough.
“A song that reminds you of someone you would rather forget about.” Why would want to list of a song that makes me (Theo) think of someone I would rather forget? Well, I would rather forget an incident associated with a person. So I chose Mat Zo’s Smacked Up On Jack. This track starts with vocals which are dark and actually can give you a look into the feelings of someone with mental illness.
I still here “they locked me up” and similarities to “I am crazy, but I am a nice crazy”. The track is entered below if you’re wondering what I am so enticed by on this song.
