3LAU set his goal earlier this year that he was going to raise $200,000 by the end of 2016 to build a total of eight schools through Pencils of Promise. This whole initiative actually started in 2012-2013. You see, in 2013, 3LAU raised $25,000 ($12,500 from his James Egbert “Back to New” remix” and $12,500 of his own money). From there, he started to donate portions of his ticket sales from his Your Mind Tour. He teamed up with the Electric Family to donate when you bought his 3LAU bracelet. Now, Justin Blau has raised his goal of $200,000 with two months to go through his label Blume.
We have been fortunate to discuss with 3LAU in regards to Blume and his music. Through streaming on Spotify, as well as sales of “Is It Love” and “Fire” this was all made possible. So in a sense, it was all his fans that made it possible. If you want to continue to donate to Pencils of Promise with 3LAU, click here.
