Kaskade tweeted out the Soundcloud link to his remix earlier today, telling fans they would recognize the “older stuff” he used to play, worked into the remixes. Unsure exactly what he meant, but knowing I loved “old” Kaskade, I took a listen.
The original song by Late Night Alumni features soft vocals and a groovy vibe. Kaskade has added his flare with deep house melodies and backgrounds to keep the atmosphere of the song “smokey” dare I say. This is a song that is easily danced to in the club, though I’m not sure I could see it at a major festival on the main stage. The song itself feels intimate and would therefore thrive in a redux setting that Kaskade has shown he loves to play.
I’m impressed by how well the vocals done by Late Night Alumni compliment the deep house melodies put in by Kaskade. Obviously this was by design, but it is still impressive as I could see this being an original Kaskade track if it hadn’t said “Remix.”
