Every year, Google releases their Google Zeigeist which features the best and the worst trending topics of each year. These started in 2001 and Googlea gives visual look at what millions of people searched for over the year just ending. For example, 2001 the top searches spanned from “Harry Potter” to “Osama Bin Laden.” This year, there was some interesting searches, but before I do, I recommend you watching Google’s amazing video.

These are the top topics searched overall in 2013. As you can expect, topics like Nelson Mandela, the Royal Baby, and Paul Walker were on the top 10. Although, at number 5 is Harlem Shake by Baauer. Due to the popularity of this track, it saved Mad Decent.
Every performer listed is absolutely amazing. Some were listed because their accomplishments. Others were listed by their social network outbursts. Some, unfortunately, were listed because of their untimely deaths. Although, we were amazed to see that Daft Punk was able to break the list at number nine all because of their amazing album, Random Access Memories. The hype from ‘Get Lucky‘ managed to make them a hot commodity this year!
