Some music videos make you laugh, others make you cry, some are weird and confusing, and then there is Svoy’s music video for “Waiting For You.” I’m not exactly sure what I’m seeing, though it is quite clear that the scene is shifting constantly, though the eyes that continually stare at you, seem to pierce your soul as if to let you know that they are waiting for you.
The song is both up-tempo but slow and relaxed. This dichotomy is achieved with vocals that seem to stretch out over many seconds as each word is pronounced with great effort. In the background we here a progressive sound that I would liken to the percussion section, playing fast and relentless as time marches on.
These two aspects, both the video and the opposites of the vocals and percussion, make this one track you will not want to look away from. You will not be able to pull your headphones out either. Check out the video below!
