In case you are unfamiliar, Ephwurd burst onto the scene about a year ago and have been killing the game ever since. Lucky for Denver, the dynamic duo are making a stop at Beta this weekend and it will be nothing short of a damn party. Stepping away from the dubstep genre, Datsik and Bais Haus are producing something slightly different as fans see a marked change from what they think they know.
Ephwurd have hit the ground running with plenty of releases and high profile events, leaving both experienced producers salivating for more. Fresh ideas are spun as Ephwurd and crowds benefit as the two friends play anything and everything to keep us on our toes the entire night. With Beta’s amazing sound system and close proximity, expect wild lighting and plenty of music to keep everyone turnt up for hours.
We had the pleasure of an interview with these fine gentlemen in the days leading up to the show. Check out the interview below to get a little more informed on just who Ephwurd is and why you should already have your tickets. I’ll see you there!
– First off, mind introducing yourselves to our readers?
Hello, we are Ephwurd! For those of you who don’t know we are Datsik & Bais Haus.
– How and when was “Ephwurd” born?
Around a year ago, but we have been friends for about 5 years. We met while touring with Steve Aoki which is when we wrote our first tune together. Ever since then we have just kept it going and finally needed an alias to release our collabs under.
– Datsik, what has it been like stepping away from being “Datsik” and into this role?
Its been cool to step away from the dubstep scene and try something new. Doing something different keeps my mind fresh which in turn helps me expand my ideas for the Datsik alias. It’s been great so far!!
– Baishaus, what has changed most for you with the success of Ephwurd?
I stopped ghost producing lol.
– What does 2016 look like for the two of you?
Tons of new music and FESTIVAL SEASON!!!!
– Where do you see electronic music heading this year and where you fit into that?
The scene changes so quickly and we are happy we got in on a new sound when did. Music that is hyped will always be around but the sounds might change. We hope to change with the hype and come up with new ways to keep kids going crazy.
– What makes Denver unlike any other place to play?
Denver is the BASS CAPITOL!!! You can always expect a great turnout and tons of supportive fans. Its such a great place to test out new material without feeling like you’ll be judged.
– Have you done anything memorable here in Denver on days off?
Usually we are hungover in diners eating massive amounts of breakfast foods lol.
– Any last thoughts?
Bass Utopia of Colorado, get ready to party with us!!!
