The Neon Grave tour hit Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Skyway Theater this past Saturday. As the sold out crowd began to fill in, Ricky Remedy eased into the night with an hour full of trap. The crowd took to the intro set with pleasure and the night started on a perfect note. Laxx took the stage next exceeding all expectations, playing some of our personal favorites Live and Direct, Semi Auto and heavy hitter Destruktion, we can’t wait to see more of Laxx in the future. By this time the crowd was raucous and rowdy, making sure Trollphace and Zomboy knew they better bring it. As the night went on, the sets progressively grew heavier and the crowd responded in kind. Trollphace took the stage and instantly I knew my body was about to be destroyed. An hour later and I was sore all over from whomping so much. An artist like Trollphace just knows how to settle in with a crowd and gauge where to take the set, we wanted heavy, and as much of it as possible. We got everything we could have dreamed of and more.
Having just released his new EP Neon Grave a little over a month ago, Joshua Mellody, also known as Zomboy, is celebrating the release with an eighteen date tour spanning across North America. With five different tracks all portraying a different sound of Zomboy, Neon Grave was the release we’ve all been looking for. From the filthy wubs we all love, to the house-y vibes of Miles Away, Zomboy could not have produced a more well-rounded EP. From new to old, Zomboy provided Minneapolis with a show to remember. Opening with Like a Bitch and closing with Terror Squad Remix, the crowd was full of energy from start to finish. The atmosphere was hectic and uncontrollable, but all in the perfect way possible. Everyone was getting down to whatever was being played at the moment, worrying about only the music, as it should be. Having seen Zomboy a few times, this has to be one of my favorites, getting the full Neon Grave experience is something I will never forget. If you can, make sure you check out Zomboy on the Neon Grave tour and be prepared to go your hardest.
