Hailing from Germany, DJ Rapture has been in the game for quite some time, first making his mark by producing trap/twerk tracks for southern rappers. In his music videos, you’ll find him as the “random white guy” in a branding style similar to earlier Diplo. Marketing tactics aside, Rapture’s sound is undeniable and has been making noise with his production/DJ squad Clubcrushers since 2010. Only recently has he made his mark in the states, hitting the shores with the US release of “Hell Yeah” last year.
His new song is a departure from the twerk sound that became his bread-and-butter over time; instead, he’s moving into the RnB / midtempo tropical direction that we’ve started to hear from major artists lately. Singer Najja – A songwriter for Trey Songz, so you wouldn’t be wrong for mistaking the two at first listen – lends some smooth lyrics to build the sensual nature of the track. It’s a nice and easy jam for the summer, one that I’ll be adding into my sets for sure. I’m looking forward to hearing more quality stuff from Rapture and Najjia as they work their way into the mainstream. Take a listen below!.
