Stephen’s Crossfire was an important part of his debut album, and was powerful enough to elicit emotions through its instrumentation and lyrics. Disco’s Over has taken the song and done some serious experimentation, preserving the original lyrics but adding glitched out Drum and Bass drops, and even some halftime too. Stupidly heavy bass growls are juxtaposed with beautiful piano melodies in a song that’s a journey from start to finish – just like the original. Think Fellow Feeling by Porter Robinson, it’s got that theme except throws you in the deep end instead of building up. Needless to say, this is one of the most unique remixes that has been released in quite a while, and given how powerful the original was this is an effort and a half. Seriously, listen to this tune and listen to it again. It will amaze you.
