Café Del Mar is one of those songs that separates hardcore dance music fans from the rest. It was released in 1993 as Energy 52’s first single, followed by enough remixes to propel it to the mainstream charts in 1997, even though it’s Trance. The chord progression is what Café Del Mar is famous for, and is maybe even more famous than the Ibiza bar that it’s named after. The original mix has a beat throughout it, however most people will remember the ambient part from the Three n One mix as its defining feature, which then drops into a beat that manages to be just as good to dance to as it is to chill out to. If you haven’t heard this one before, I’d recommend it. This is Trance at its best.
