Over the last year or so Savant’s slowed down his extraordinary release schedule to focus on the musicality of his releases, playing live and starting a new alias by the name of Blanco. We’re now starting to hear the fruition of all of that hard work and effort that he’s been putting in, and it’s resulted in a tremendously good album by the name of Vybz.
It simultaneously throws back to his 2012 style (in which he released four full length albums) while breaking new ground in terms of his production, with everything from happy 8-bit to meaningful emotional tunes. As usual he’s thrown away all ideas about genres, instead just releasing 16 pieces of good music. With another Savant album in the works there’s a lot to look forward to, but Vybz is more than enough classic Savant to quench your thirst. Have a listen to the full album below!
