1) Tela Vuota
The album starts off with a beautiful instrumental track. For 30 seconds nothing but piano performs. The track quickly develops and starts adding synths to emphasize the piano that is still playing. Shortly after this beautiful build, the track goes back to simple piano, decrescendo-ing until silence.
2) Broken (With Jenaux) [Feat. Adam Lambert]
No one can deny that Adam Lambert is an excellent vocalist. And Broken is no exception. In the original review, it was stated that “[t]he vibes in this track are so good despite the lyrics are about being hurt by someone.” Which is something that Tritonal has always been excellent at doing in their tracks. On top of the glory that is Adam Lambert’s voice, you cannot help but remember that another key part of this track is the collaborating artist Jenaux. A wonderful producing power who, including this track, has made some serious waves as far as producing music.
3) Waiting 4 U
I’ve said it once, and I will say it again. A good vocal track can get anyone to move. Waiting 4 U is one of those tracks, for sure. Having the intro transition to a simple rhythm supporting the vocals, the beat builds, giving hope for music to dance to. As the beat builds to the drop, you quickly get into the dance mood. “The way you make me feel” repeats over the drop chorus as the bass kicks and an upbeat melody is created. From then on, the song is all party rhythm and lyric-wise. A story of happiness, being together, and lasting together. The song is all positive vibes to help get the album rolling.
4) I Feel The Love (Feat. Ross Lynch)
Ross Lynch begins his vocals and Tritonal gives a slow bass beat to get started, but as the lyrics continue they quickly speed up the beat. Percussion is a big part of this track, giving solid downbeats during the verses. The counterpart for the track is Lynch’s lyrics, which are all about meeting someone new, loving and embracing the future. This is the kind of song that will pick someone up when they are feeling down and give them the hope that they need. Keep this song on your playlist for any day you are feeling down.
5) Getaway (Feat. Angel Taylor)
Tritonal is loving the vocals for this album. The next vocalist to be pulled up is Angel Taylor. Do you have that one person that you love? Or that one person who’s friendship is the one thing that helps you with everything that can come crashing down? Well if you have that person, or if you are that person, then I would suggest sitting down and giving Getaway a listen. The instrumental choice for this track is totally a Tritonal classic. I love how it sounds and how sitting here reviewing the album, I cannot help but move. Just remember, some day, at some time. Someone will be saying, “You’re my getaway”.
6) Rewind
Rewind is a bit simpler than the previous couple of tracks if you want to evaluate it based off of lyrics. But honestly, this track is perfect as is. This is the kind of track that you’ll here from Tritonal during shows and festivals. The breakdowns make the tracks, with lyrics calling “C’mon!” to get crowds involved. This track also, seems to me, to be the most diverse in samples used to create the beat. It is a track you do not want to overlook. You will be hearing it more and more.
7) Painting With Dreams (Nothing Like Them) [Feat. Shy Martin]
The very start of this track gives beautiful, soothing, piano chords with a faint sample in the background. The intro reminds me of a stormy night. The piano turns into Shy Martin singing about being unique and different with that one special person. When we are with the one person we truly care for, we are all unique, we are all special, and we are all worth the world. “We’re nothing like them, Nothing like, nothing like”.
8) Blackout (Feat. Steph Jones)
Let Steph Jones start off as the focus of the beginning of the track, being supported by beautifully simple rhythms, she is encouraged to sing. But as the chorus begins, the beat builds, and the real instrumental genius of Tritonal comes in. Distorting the samples they have, they make a beautiful drop that is at a tempo just right for how Jones sings.
9) Livin’ The Dream
Always following the love of his life, a lover is chasing his love (his dream) in these beautiful lyrics, as he begs for her to stay by his side. The beat is low key, staying towards the lower octaves in order to emphasis the lyrics. When the drop comes, there is a vocal distortion that breaks up the lyrics of the song. But as the lyrics paint the picture, the instrumentals encourage the imagination to paint a portrait of a young man chasing the love of his life.
10) This Is Love (Feat. Chris Ramos and Shanahan)
“How long can I wait for you?” is sung as the track builds it’s beat. This goes to the drop which is, of course, classic Tritonal dance music. Upbeat percussion with a set of electronic samples that will catch you in the moment and get you up off the ground. “This is love”, and you will love this track playing during the tour.
11) Running Into Me (Feat. Jaden Michaels)
Another track for this “love” album that Tritonal has released, Jaden Michaels sings of the energy that she loves from another while piano and electronic bass lines are laid under her vocals. But then the breakdown occurs. Giving a strong bass line, the track pushes forward with power and compassion that you’d come to expect on this album.
12) Set It On Fire (Feat. Fred Page)
One man verse the world; the track is another love story-styled vocal track. “Tonight the world is coming down”… “we will set it on fire”, a set of lyrics that seem pretty ark, but in the name of love, the upbeat tempo and choice of samples gives the track the positive vibe of one doing anything for that special someone.
13) Escape (Feat. Steph Jones)
With the album coming to a close, Steph Jones is brought back for another track. This is the typical ‘break the rules track’ vocally. And the beat is an upbeat, get-up-and-jump track to get the listener moving. A bass beat that pushes the track and guides the profession of samples leads the album into the final track, with listeners entranced by the tracks of love.
14) Only Mortal (Feat. Nick Sibicky)
The album ends just as it began. The final track is an instrumental track that is slow in tempo but diverse in instrumentals. To what I can tell, it may be the most diverse track as far as different samples is concerned. Ending the album with this track changes the mood from the upbeat and excited state, which the listened was in for tracks two through thirteen. This track is almost like a lullaby or a dreamscape to bring the style full circle.
