It really breaks my heart to write this post. Although, legendary legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away at 82 years. The man was responsible for so much in the music industry. One of the most prolific songs of all time, “Hallelujah” was written and performed by the man. He truly was a visionary. In July, Leonard Cohen wrote this beautiful letter to his longtime friend, Marianne Ihlen, two days prior to her death:
Well Marianne, it’s come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine.
We can truly hope that they are back together. Rest in Peace Leonard Cohen and thanks for everything you have done for society. To honor his memory, we’re going to share this remix of “You Want It Darker” that Cohen enlisted Berlin producer Paul Kalkbrenner to rework.
