If you aren’t familiar with me or my writing, you should know that when it comes to certain artists or tracks, I don’t think there should be a remix. It is nearly impossible to remix a classic track. It just doesn’t fit. I was sent this remix by YellaWave and I was extremely reluctant to listen because of the fact he remixed Whitney Houston’s “Thinking About You.” She’s just too good for this to be a thing.
I gave it a listen and he has created this nu-disco house track to accompany her vocals. I had to listen to this remix over and over. His production skills are pretty solid. It was something that I could get behind, but I feel like something is a bit off with the remix. The part that sours me a bit is that her vocals aren’t as pronounced as they should be and that he chopped her vocals. I want to hear her loud and proud first and foremost with the production to accompany it. That said, this remix also ends very oddly. Overall, it is decent, but I feel that this could be worked on to be much better than what YellaWave has created. Check it out now!
