Well this was not expected. Dubstep maestros Twofold have teamed up with one of Trap’s most prolific producers Holly to release two songs bundled together as an EP. Both songs mix the straight up Dubstep style of Twofold with Holly’s warped, twisted industrial Trap vibe, with both songs coming out as unique as you’d expect from a pairing like this. The bass across both is very resonant, and the sound designs in both are as insane as you’d imagine. Novella gets straight down to business with a bass-laden, rhythmic Trap style, whereas after its intro Darker Than Me goes into hardcore experimental mode, and you can tell Holly’s influences straight away. Twofold come in later on with a killer beat and ridiculous wubs to hold together Holly’s madness, and finish off the EP with a bang. Although to be fair, the entire EP is the bang.
