The Knocks are kicking off 2017 with a song that showcases exactly what they do best: a restrained yet funky tune with quality vocals. The vocals in Trouble are not what you’d expect from the Knocks though, with Absofacto’s voice having been put through a vocoder and sounding computerised as a result. However, the instrumentation could very well have been played live, which is less common than you’d hope for. The finished product is a polished piece of music that reminds you a bit of Random Access Memories, except even more radio friendly. And that’s an impressive achievement, even for the funk masters that The Knocks are.
