Soupandreas would be on many peoples’ radars already given that his exposure from Monstercat, but now he’s pushing himself even further away from the crowd with his latest tune. Melatonin is dark Trap at its finest, with an intro that sounds like it came straight out of his home city of New York, before building up to the drop with none other than the Mario boost item sound. The creativity flows further through the song, with a synth usually found in Future House used to great effect alongside the kick. The middle section sounds like it was produced by Haywyre, before Soupandreas gets back down to business for the rest of the song. Melatonin provides a unique perspective into bass music, and it’ll be very interesting to hear how he follows this up. Because it’ll be hard to.
