There are really only two types of remixes: the ones that wow you and the ones that make you ask, “Why though?”. However, there are some remixes that can fall somewhere in the middle and Garmiani’s remix of “Dream Bigger” by Axwell /\ Ingrosso does just that. First, let me say, the use of vocal samples as a lead throughout the song is exceptionally pleasing. It adds an exciting new flair to the track that still keeps much of the song’s upbeat tempo and feel.
The one gripe I have against this remix is that it samples the exact same buildup as the original and for a remix that’s based on a song that been released for over nine months now, I’d at least hope that Germiani would have spent some time changing up all aspects of the song, at least a bit. That said, the beats throughout the hook are stellar and definitely compliment the rest of the track. Something I can definitely appreciate is an exceptional use of percussion and that’s precisely what Garmiani has done.
