With their free-spirited new single “Freak Me” now doing the rounds, we grabbed 8 Questions with the hugely talented group Campsite Dream
1) Who are three of your all-time favourite artists, past or present?
Okay this is gonna be totally random, but here are 3 artists that have inspired us in the past and present.
Jennifer Paige: Our all-time favorite crush. Her hit single was the track that started our Campsite Dream journey.
Michael Jackson: This man was way ahead of his time in every way. He had it all and he made some of the best songs out there.
Tom Misch: Mellow beats, check. Slick jazzy guitar riffs, check. If you haven’t heard his music you should totally look him up. There is nothing you cannot like about this guy.
2) Is there a particular tune that you have never got sick of?
LeAnn Rimes – “How Do I Live.” Instant crying with this tune.
3) Describe your perfect day…
We love to just hang out with our friends, road-tripping to the beach, playing and sharing music.
4) What would people who know you well say about you in three words?
Free, outdoor, music.
5) Ideal studio layout…
A lot of our music gets written from little jams outside of the studio, but when we are working it feels best when it’s not too forced. Our studio is more of a living room situation. Comfy, cosy and clean (most of the time).
6) What is your most valued material possession?
It may sound a bit cheesy, but we really feel that it’s not about what you have, but more about the adventures you create yourself. Of course a laptop or computer is needed to produce music, but next to that we don’t need a lot.
7) Is there something musically you would like to do more of next year?
We are really keen on working together with all kinds of creative people that we meet along the road – to not just make music but also produce all kind of creative content.
8) Where do you want to be in 10 years?
Although our goal is to reach as many people as possible through our music, we would love to have the time to enjoy the little moments as we are doing right now.
