It would be unfair to say that The Others is bursting onto the Dubstep scene, because he’s been here for a while now. But what is fair to say, is that he’s been turning quite a few more heads recently. With a stepped up production game, he’s landed his first EP on Disciple Records, and the sounds are incredible. It’s all experimental but still Dubstep through and through, with each drop being very unique. War is climactic, whereas Barbarian is more minimalist – but both work perfectly as they are. Listen (with Virtual Riot) and What both carry on the experimentalism of the first part of the EP, being just as fulfilling as the first two songs.
To simplify where this EP sits, it won’t blow minds in terms of how hard it is. The production is faultless, but the sound design is really where the War EP wins. It’s fresh, and new, and most importantly, good. Very good. Catch it below.
