Droptek hasn’t released music in more than a year, but he’s finally made his comeback with an incredible and forward thinking EP, showing off his versatility in producing Drum and Bass. Not a single song is standard DnB: Mimic is Neurofunk, Inject is a halftime beast with a beat that goes close to Trap. Fragments takes on a Camo & Krooked vibe with reversed synths and a minimal snare, before the cinematic Ekstasis blows everyone away with a halftime beat that’s as unexpected as it is heavy. There may be a lot of Drum and Bass that seems formulaic, but much of this EP is a breath of fresh air that was well and truly needed. Listen below.
