It’s New Music Friday and if you’re looking for the perfect mellow future bass track to ease into the weekend, then Just A Gent has delivered. Following on neatly from the expansive “Time Voyage” ft. Hauskey, the inimitable producer now joins forces with LA songwriter and vocalist Nevve for the sublime ‘Open Spaces.’
Within seconds, it invites listeners to immerse themselves in a melodic, radio-ready verse framed by tinkling bells, gentle piano chords, and sweeping strings. As the chorus hits, Nevve’s vocals are layered against a laid back drum beat and deep bass line, both leaning in heavily to the track’s potent escapism.
Giving insight into the track, Just A Gent says: “Open Spaces’ was a track that I wanted to try something new with but I also really wanted to take inspiration from some of my earliest tracks as Just A Gent. I think the track turned out pretty damn awesome. Also, Nevve is fantastic and it was a privilege to work with them!’’
‘Open Spaces’ is out now via Monstercat. Make sure you keep an eye out for Just A Gent’s forthcoming EP – set for release next month.
