alice.km is flexing her techno skillset via this new EP that you don’t want to sleep on. It’s called The Back Beat, releasing on Eclipse Red label on July 21st. Oozing with engaging moments and an undeniable dystopian feeling, the EP hits all the right pleasure centers that you would want from techno.
This EP has two tracks: “The Back Beat” and “Talk To Me.” “The Back Beat” feels like a wild journey into the future. Thick basslines and trippy voice clips take your mind to a world where Skynet dystopia meets rave culture. “Talk To Me” keeps the theme but brings out a different color within the EP journey, raw melodies and pulsing tempos keep the listener engaged all the way until the end.
The solo electronic artist is far from a newcomer. She started DJing in Brooklyn back in 2016 and has since played big-name spots like Elsewhere and The Rosewood Theater. And she doesn’t stop there. She hosts her own event titled Midnight Society where hundreds of people have come through, an impressive feat in itself. She doesn’t keep all her eggs in one basket, and she has earned the rewards of her hard work.
With The Back Beat EP, alice.km is showing us just how much she can do and her ability to take on new challenges. It’s a fresh take on techno, while, at the same time, acting as a solid contribution to the techno scene at large.
