Avicii Is Taking An Indefinite Extended Hiatus From Music, Quits Touring

March 29, 2016 by Nick Grindrod

In a heartfelt post to his website and Facebook page, Avicii has explained that his tumultuous music career has left him no time to pursue other interests, and that he is taking a hiatus from music indefinitely. His last tour ever will be this year. In thanking his team and supporters, he also revealed that he matured from a teenager into an adult while constantly touring, and that he wanted to expand the breadth of activities in his life. To do that, he has had to put music and his career aside.

This isn’t the first time that Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) has had issues with his career. In August 2014 he had to cancel all of his upcoming shows due to health concerns related to the removal of his gall bladder and appendix, although given his latest post it might be possible that the stress of touring could have given him mental health issues too.

At EDM Assassin we all wish Tim well for his future endeavours, and thank him for the music that brought so many people together. You can read his post here and listen to his most recent albums below.
