Barely Alive – Domain EP

February 17, 2017 by Nick Grindrod

Ladies and gentlemen, Barely Alive! After making news with their new performance set up and helmets, they’re dropped an EP full of what they’re best of: seriously good Dubstep, with a bit of Bass House and Future Bass thrown in to switch things up a bit. CA$H is the designated banger of the EP, before Elastic Nightmare continues on the same tangent. Kickin In is the Future Bass, but only for a bit before faster paced Dubstep comes into the mix. Gumby (with Habstrakt) finishes Domain, speeding up to Bass House but without sacrificing the brutal drops that were the hallmark of Domain.

This EP won’t be remembered as their greatest work, especially after a full length album, but what it does show is that Barely Alive are very consistent and professional with their production and style. So still make sure to listen to it, and revel in all of the bass that will come to greet your face. Rather harshly.
