Not many artists get signed to a huge label with just one song, but 19-year old Toronto-based Bensley has managed just that. This is that song, released on RAM Records. It’s emotional, with synths that you wouldn’t typically hear in Drum and Bass as well as piano and strings that suit the song well, and has such a high standard of production that you would not expect from an inexperienced youth. Then we get to the bassline. Yet again, it suits the song perfectly. Rarely do you hear a bassline that goes so well with the rest of a song, especially when it isn’t even that suited to a bassline. It rises and falls at exactly the right times, and would be extremely hard to improve. Then we have the layout of the song itself. It’s really well done too. It rises without being too obvious, it drops and breaks down in the right places, and then there’s the speed up between the drops that just makes you wonder how a song this good could come from out of nowhere. Bensley seems to have prodigious talent, and there are a vast amount of people in the Drum and Bass scene now watching what he does next, because you just have to follow an artist that can make a piece of music this good.
