While I am undoubtedly a fan of BK Rogers here in Melbourne, there is no denying this deep house/tech house DJ is creating waves further afield than just Australia. His first single released in 2014 ‘Intoxicated Groove’ hit the top 100 on Beatport only two weeks into its release, this new EP with remixes included from AmyDB and Ciruke, it again shows a signature deep sound that makes BK Rogers undeniably an artist on the rise. The original which begins this EP has that deep dark edgy vibe to it and it transports you until the haunting vocal kicks in and the smooth bass and drum rhythm have you tapping your fingers and feet. Hypnotic is a word that I use to describe how to lose yourself in deep house.
This year has seen BK added to the Winter Music Conference compilation album put out by Clandestine Recordings and his residency at Melbourne club Fabrique bringing many to hear these velvet deep sets each Friday night. The remixes themselves are a diverse, rich and full sound of the original. He is attracting attention from many of the world’s top DJ’s/Producers in the tech house/deep fields and his sound is only evolving with every release. It’s the type of EP that you can grab that good bottle of wine, sit back in a comfy chair and simply get transported or you can feel yourself begin to dance with the rhythm that only BK Rogers can bring to a dance floor. One of the deep dark mysterious places in your soul. You can stream the preview below and enjoy the journey.
