Painting is self-discovery. Every good artist paints what he is.

CHINENSIS
What Pollock has to do with electronic music? Well, nothing in truth as far as I know, but this quote seemed perfect to introduce another member of my personal Soundcloud Hall of Fame, somebody who, without any doubts, could be described as a D&B painter and goes under the alias of Chinensis. Native from the Essex in the UK (what a surprise), Sean Jiggins is indeed a talented music producer, with dozens of tracks behind him(both in free downloads and through many labels) and a special predilection for the liquid and smooth side of the Drum&Bass, with which he uses to create beautiful musical paintings.
Artwork can be bearer of joy, sadness, loneliness or ecstasy, but his unique mixture of liquid vibes with a soft balearic/tropical essence is something that has a really wide appeal on my taste, something that shakes every single time my inner being, and its deepest fears and emotions.

Luckily for you, ‘Pictures of Moments’ is one of his highest peaks so far (in my opinion), and perfectly summarizes what I stated previuosly. As stated by Chinensis himself, “Pictures of Moments refers to the memories you hold most dear even if you can no longer experience that moment again”, and in fact every single second is permeated by conflicting feelings, from every beat, note and word you can clearly feel the melancholy coming through, mixed with a deep and remote dose of unbreakable happiness.
I listen to a lot of music every day, sometimes too much, but when people ask me about music with a proper Soul, I have to admit that not infrequently I find myself thinking about Chinensis and one of his sensational tracks.
