I have a track that will really tug at your heartstrings from none other than New Jersey artist, Chris Varvaro. Quite partial to my fellow Jersey artists and this track, “Notebook,” lives up to the hype yet again. He, along with prior collaborator, Sky Roses providing the vocals, has created a track all about the struggles that come with love. You might remember their last track together, “Broken.” They do magic yet again as the production on the track with the percussion and synth work really shows the skill and talent by Chris Varvaro. Don’t get me started on the piano as that gave me some goosebumps along with Sky Roses’ voice. These two guys really made an incredible track and I know they have more in them. For Sky Roses it was about losing your cool and learning to grow as a person, settling in relationships and learning how to work through the battles and the fights. Notebook to me is not only a continuation of love letters but also talk about being understood by someone you’re close to. I love working with Chris because we get the chance to explore very real topics and we can talk about the emotions behind the music, rather than just constantly discussing tiny details. Notebook to me feels like the halfway point of our story; we’re still growing, learning, and waiting for what we’re after. Whereas our first single Broken talks about the loss, Notebook talks about the learning.
