Christian Tiger School is a duo that hails from South Africa, and their latest track “Chorisolo” certainly has a distinct sound, unlike anything else I have ever encountered. The up-tempo rhythm of the song is punctuated by a fast percussion undertone, overlaid with an R&B/Hip-hop melody that sounds dreamy and other-worldly. Christian Tiger School have gained quite a following in Cape Town South Africa with their distinct style and use of South African influences to create an electronic sound wholly their own.
“Chorisolo” blends together the range of electronic sounds to produce something that is both danceable and uplifting, creating for listeners an atmosphere of high energy tranquility. I love the use of the dreamy pads and soft melodies to capture the effect of the fast percussion as each element of the song is given full focus at one portion or another within the song. The vocal samples that pervade the song provide an extra layer to the feeling of relaxation that “Chorisolo” creates, while the up-tempo rhythm will have you moving without conscious thought.
