Make sure your speakers aren’t turned up too loud to start. We don’t want anyone blowing their hearing with the amount of bass that this track contains. When you’ve adjusted, make sure you turn it up as loud as you can handle, it’s well worth it. The loud and grimy bass is complimented here with a softer synth melody that almost feels like a reprieve from the vibrations that rack your body as the bass hits each time.
This track will have you head-banging in no time as the bass is too powerful to just stand their and absorb, it needs a release, and that is you raging to Giallo. Don’t be shy, rage your heart out. Everyone else will be. I love that the breaks in between the bass sections provide us with a completely different sound, choir singing almost, that seems to bring this track into a new realm. The voices are deep and soulful, but they sound far away such that they do not become the focus of the song.
Instead, we focus on the incredible synth that provides a great rhythm while the bass takes a short hiatus. When it kicks in again, we want nothing more than to head bang and rage to the powerful energy that the bass provides. Make sure you listen to the track below and check out the rest of Lies & Deceit!
“Giallo” is a powerful electro / industrial track included in Culture Prophet’s debut album Lies & Deceit, released on May 5th on King’s Head Records.
About Lies & Deceit
Culture Prophet’s debut LP “Lies and Deceit” is a bone-burrowing, banger filled blast of electro rock. This album is a tight 11 song sweep that touches electro, rock, heavy metal, industrial and house; it sounds like Phoenix in a stray jacket running into the padded walls. The heavy industrial stomp of “Giallo” and “Switch” are reminiscent of Sebastian or Haezer at their harshest while the sharp edged electro pop of “Sleeping Lord” is tight and bouncy like an early Strokes. “Assassins” is an aggressive rock song, utilizing middle eastern sounds with Culture Prophet’s signature stylish fuzz. Culture Prophet has put together here an electronic statement album that stays true to his varied personalities as a producer: heavy french-house auteur, heavy metal maven, and ear-worming pop hook scribe.
