Nestled deep in the Appalachian Mountains, atop a mountain resort, the bass rumbled and people danced for 3 long filled days/nights of music, arts, and culture. While Clustxr was just a second-year festival, it’s obvious after this year, it’s here to stay. Being hosted at the gorgeous Ace’s Adventure Resort, it featured 3 days of non-stop music ranging from world famous acts like Downlink, Ill.Gates, Jansten, Dirt Monkey, Virtual Riot, & Barely Alive to the top touring regional acts such as Toadface, Lord Swan3x, Lancelott, Shy Guy Says, Echo Mecca, and many more.
While providing a stellar lineup, Clustxr Music Festival also offered a full waterpark for all attendees submitting its self to being on the way to be Appalachia’s premier camping EDM music festival for years to come. With security entering and exiting the festival being smooth but effective, the professionalism of the staff from both Ace’s Adventure Resort & Clustxr, to the eclectic atmosphere attendees provided, this festival is one you will definitely want to check out next year.
As day 1 came to a start, you could feel the festival jitters coming over everyone and the atmosphere being set for a great weekend. VEIL had the main stage underway providing the early day trance while The Flow(Along with all of his friends) already had a small party going while opening up the second stage, Interstellar Stage. With festivities well underway and music coming from all directions, the weather held off allowing the vibes to flow. As people continued to enter the festival and set up camp, everyone continued to mingle and connect with each other, slowly turning Clustxr into one big family over the weekend.
Amidst Clustxr being well under way, Twin Syndrome & Prof had parties going on both stages, getting the crowd going and ready for more. Bringing the bass, West Va. Phenoms, Critk & Mongo went Back-To-Back preparing the mountains for the true wild & wonderful, Toadface. Providing the deep weeble wobbles we all love, he truly set the stage for what was about to be a weekend full of music & love. As the main stage ended, the campgrounds kept the bass kicking at the interstellar stage till the early hours of the morning bringing a wrap to an eventful day one.
While the renegade stage started early and woke people up and got them ready for the day, they set the tone that it’s time to rage. With nationally known heavy hitters like Jansten & Dirt Monkey(With a B2B set included after their solo sets), Downlink, and an array of spectacular regional talent such as Lord Swan3x, Relevant Dimensions, Sektion, and even a much more special and intimate set from Toadface on the Interstellar Stage.
As Lord Swan3x got the party truly started at the main stage, you could feel the anticipation building for one of the most sought after sets of the weekend, Dirt Monkey B2B Jantsen. With both playing very respectable solo sets, the B2B truly set things off in Appalachian swarp style. With one of the true dawns of EDM, Dowlink, up next, the true cluster was about to being. Nearly bringing the rail down, Downlink continued to prove why he is a true OG in the scene, all while showing love to the idea of Clustxr and building on what was happening. Leading the cluster of hooligans into the wide spectrum of music happening in the campgrounds, many continued to 360 while some 45’ed, bringing night 2 to an end.
Beginning the 3rd and final day, what started as the idea of “Cluster” was formed into a single family of people that all had the same passion, music & arts. Pushing the idea of Rick Brown, creator of Clustxr, the idea of an event becoming more than a festival, but a family, had finally came together. Alongside the eclectic atmosphere, day 3 was off to a successful start. Regional acts such as Echo Mecca, Lancelott, & Shy Guy Says got the party started early on the main stage. As headliners such as Virtual Riot, Barely Alive(and a special unplanned B2B by both), and shenanigan producing legend, Ill.Gates, the final night came to a clean, elegant, but still nasty ending(unless you kept the party live in the campsite until the early hours of the morning).
While Clustxr had unfortunately came to an end, the smiles and happiness of attendees over the 3 magical days was obvious the next morning. Proving themselves as one of the regions premier EDM festivals in the region, Clustxr is already starting planning to come back even bigger and better for next year.
