Our friends Delta House have been releasing new music left and right over the past month or so. Since we always love new music, we wanted to sit down with the guys again to see what they have been up to and what the future holds for them in terms of making music. Below you will find our interview with Delta House, and here is the link to their latest and greatest, a remix of Hellberg’s track, ‘The Girls’. Enjoy!
– Since the last time we talked earlier this year, what have you guys been up to?
We’ve been a little quiet as far as releasing music, but we have been working nonstop on creating new music for this Fall.
In addition, we just recently moved into a new space and have been setting up our new studio. Now that it is complete we can finish up all these new tracks that we can’t wait to show everyone! We also had our second track, Hit & Run, come out on Beatport and iTunes in September. We haven’t been able to release as much music as we like to, but we’ve been very busy working on stuff 🙂
– I know you have a lot of new music coming down the pipeline, was that intentional or did it just sort of happen?
This summer was really hectic logistically for us, especially with us changing cities, but we never stop making music. So it wasn’t intentional to be sitting on so much unreleased music but we absolutely intended to create as many songs as possible for us. We have a really solid amount of tracks ready to go and we are expecting a consistent flow of music to be coming out very soon.
– How do you decide between doing an original track or a remix?
It really depends on the song. In the case of this remix of Hellberg’s The Girl, or our Secrets Remix from earlier this year, it comes down to loving the original version and wanting to do something with our own spin on it. Sometimes we’ll hear an original and immediately have an idea for a remix. Both of those come and go as we discover new and old music by other artists. That being said, we love writing originals because we can try to create literally anything we want. We love the style we’ve been developing with our music and it’s always fun to try to expand on it in new ways.
– Playing any gigs we should know about in the near future?
Nothing major planned right now. We’re playing some house parties which is always super fun but we’re looking for places to play for the rest of 2015 and early 2016. So if any promoters out there want to book us….please do 🙂
– What can we expect from you guys with the rest of 2015?
A ton of new music! We have this Hellberg Remix and a remix of Tritonal & Cash Cash’s “Untouchable” coming soon that will both be free downloads, as well as an official remix coming later this Fall that we are super excited about. As far as originals, we’ve been working with the incredible Los Angeles based vocalist Elodia, and we just finished up our first original with her. We have a few more fun surprises too 🙂
– What was it like having Blasterjaxx support you on their radio show?
First on the subject of Blasterjaxx, we just read their Facebook post last night and we sincerely want to wish Idir a fast and complete recovery. They were the first big support we had and we are extremely grateful – thoughts and prayers to Idir as he gets back to full health.
With that said…it was an unreal moment for both of us. We didn’t even know until we were checking our Soundcloud stats and saw that they downloaded our remix of KSHMR & Tiesto’s “Secrets”. A couple minutes later we found out they played it on Maxximize On Air and obviously we were beyond excited. Blasterjaxx is one of our favorite duo’s and biggest inspirations so the fact that they even downloaded our track was incredible. Having such a reputable artist play our song for their fans alongside some of biggest tracks out means the world to us.
– What was the repercussions of that happening (obviously all good things)?
From an exposure standpoint it was incredible; it really got our song out there for more people to hear, including DJ’s. We had some of our favorite producers reaching out to us and giving verbal support on the track so that was amazing. And overall I think it has given us a little more credibility as producers to be recognized on such a huge radio show.
– If you had the chance to work with any artist in the industry today, who would it be?
Eli: MAKJ or Tech N9NE.
Cam: KSHMR or Tommy Trash.
– What is your absolute favorite set of all time? (Live or streamed)
Eli: Hands down the best set I’ve seen live is the set I saw Porter Robinson play in Santa Barbara at Matador Music Festival in early 2013. Streaming my favorite is Tommy Trash’s 2013 EDC Vegas set.
Cam: My favorite set was Tommy Trash’s EDC 2013 set that Eli mentioned. I saw this set live at EDC 2013 in Las Vegas and I have to say, the amount of energy during this set was incomparable.
– Any last comments to readers?
We really want to thank everyone for the ongoing support, and we have so much new music we’re going to give away to show our appreciation. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s coming, and we promise, this is just the beginning.
