[EDM Assassin Exclusive] TyDi Interview- Dancefestopia

September 16, 2015 by Nick Pesavento

tyDi-dft interview

After talking about and listening to TyDi for almost a year, I finally had the chance to not only see TyDi at Dancefestopia, but interview him. As I headed back to his trailer before his set, I was told by Doug from DFT that I needed to ask Tyson about what happened when he woke up earlier. With that idea in mind, I stepped into his trailer to find three other people and Tyson waiting for me. Everyone was super nice and couldn’t wait to hear the interview questions I had.

First and foremost, I had to hear this story. While I don’t want to give away it all, it had a lot to do with Tyson thinking he was supposed to be on stage when he woke up in his trailer. You’ll have to listen to the interview to hear the rest. We also talked about his alias as Wish I Was and plans for a new album that should be coming out in 2016. We found out the secrets behind Wish I Was and where the inspiration for it came from.

TyDi mentioned that one of his favorite places to play was Paradiso and that he would be dropping a new track during his late night set. With the interview over, I went out to enjoy his set. Though at 2:30am on the final day of Dancefestopia, the crowd seemed to love TyDi and his mix of house and trance. He even stopped a few times to snapchat the crowd and let us know about signs on the booth that read both “Welcome to Missouri” and “You’re not in Kansas”.

I want to give a huge thank you to TyDi and his team for giving me the opportunity to interview him as well as a wonderful set from the Aussie that I had wanted to see so badly for so long. Until next time TyDi! Check out the full interview below!
