For those of you that don’t know, Denver is considered by many to be the “bass capitol” of the country. While I cannot say I disagree, Global Dub Festival returns for a spectacular 5th year to uphold the title. From Datsik down, Red Rocks will be experiencing the hardest hitting bass music there is to offer. Datsik loves to play Denver as we see him a few times of a year at least. Bro Safari and Slander bring their A game to the rocks, delving into the bass music subgenres with each set showing off something different.
The bottom half of this lineup is where things really shine for me as a fan. While Datsik/Bro Safari/Slander will no doubt shake the rocks, Ghastly and the very special b2b2b stand out.
For me, Ghastly has come into the bass music scene and taken over. Bass house as a genre has exploded in popularity and the rise of Ghastly showcases his talent as a producer and a DJ. Coming off an amazing set at Coachella, Ghastly is sure to light a fire under your ass and get you dancing, headbanging, raging, and everything in between for his set.
How many times have you ACTUALLY seen the Doctor P vs. Cookie Monsta vs. Funtcase b2b2b? A handful maybe? You understand my excitement for 3 legends of the UKF dubstep scene to give Red Rocks and Global Dub a truly special performance. With set times being released today and the trio hitting the stage at 7:50, there is absolutely no place I would rather find myself than Red Rocks in May with heavy dubstep reverberating through me and reminding me why I love this stuff.
Make sure you grab your ticket if you haven’t already, Red Rocks Season truly kicks off with Global Dub Festival 2016 and what is sure going to be a night to remember. Look for me in the crowd taking pictures and stay tuned for a very special review of the show! 😉
