Finding out that Ephwurd was a side project of Datsik and long time friend Bais Haus had me excited all over. Stepping away from the Datsik alias, it was a chance for him to explore new genres with the help of Bais Haus and his production experience. Their debut performance at Beta was filled with CO2 cannons, lasers, and bubbles. Yes bubbles. They reflected the lasers and it was absolutely awesome in the dark of Beta.
On to the music, stepping away from dubstep, Datsik and Bais Haus jumped into the bass house genre, giving fans throbbing bass lines and rousing rhythms that get you dancing and headbanging all at once. The crowd was wild from the minute these two stepped into the booth. With special “Eph You” flags waved by the gogo dancers, and the shoutouts to Denver over the mic from both Datsik and Bais Haus, Ephwurd cemented their place in Denver’s heart.
Denver is the bass capitol and we do love our wubs. Coming to Beta and their state-of-the-art sound system, Ephwurd made full use of the subs and the crowd as they threw down an amazing debut set. Ephwurd is set to tour around the US in the next few months, hitting festivals and cities alike. Check out the rest of my pictures below!
