Giraffage – Tell Me (GTA Remix)

August 25, 2015 by Alessio Anesi

For indeed, these few words can fully explain all there is to explain about this new pearl from GTA, but anyway I’ll try to be more specific. A couple of days ago Fool’s Gold released the remixes of the Giraffage’s debut Ep ‘No Reason’, among which was included one by GTA. The american youngster duo has managed to put its own spin on what can be considered the leading track of the original EP, ‘Tell Me’, that with the chopped vocals and bubble wrap riffs represents an absolute unique piece of introspective music but, on the other side, represents a hard challenge for the remixers, above all if the artists in question are renowned for big noisy festival anthems.

But I hadn’t come to terms with the ‘Death To Genres’ philosophy that, as always, it offered us something unexpected.

Forget about the GTA you used to know cause here they have gone 100% Future Bass, creating a perfect example of this subgenre that fit more than perfectly with the elements of ‘Tell Me’. The fluffy and soft base of the original track are replaced by a powerful but still melodic carpet of synths, above which they kept the characteristic bubble sounds and the vocals, pitched obviously up to the extreme.

You can listen that brand new GTA’s remix below, but, if by chance you’ve lost it, I recommend you to take the time to listen the Giraffage’ Ep ‘No Reason’, because in my opinion is still among the highlights of 2015.
