There are not as many fresh styles out in the bass music scene right now, but Herobust is one artist that is well and truly carving a style of his own. Fusing hard hybrid Trap with Dubstep, he’s created six neck breaking tunes with forward thinking mixing and bone shattering sound designs.
Not content with going that far though, he’s combined all of it with his own vocals in four of the songs, in a modern Hip Hop style that adds extra flavor to the EP. There are also metal influences in Heavy Meddle, and he’s taken inspiration from his edit of Knife Party’s Destroy Them With Lazers to create a sort of personal theme song in the form of Status Busted. Just Dawn Hue is Future Bass, Herobust style and is definitely worth a listen. That being said, the title track, Dirt Heater Tea and Move Mint are the hardest off the EP, even though every song in itself is very enjoyable.
When it comes to hard Trap, I’m going to call it now that Herobust is the future. The Vertebreaker EP shows what can be achieved when you put love and care into your music. Combine with talent, and you get Herobust.
